3-Bet: Leonard Rakes in Over $110K on PokerStars, Schneider Tops partypoker Grand Prix Gala & Manig Loeser Wins a Title at Venetian DeepStack Extravaganza V

2019 is looking like an eventful year and even though we are just days into the New Year, we have already seen a lot of poker (action) in the global circuit.

bitB Staking founder and partypoker ambassador Patrick Leonard started off the New Year on a winning note after taking down two events on PokerStars, including a title win. Leonard added over $110,000 to his kitty.

Just days before Leonard’s deep runs, we saw two top German pros taking top honors in separate events. Denis Schneider picked up the partypoker €550 Grand Prix Gala title for €75,243 following a four-way deal, even as fellow countryman Manig Loeser topped the 1,250-entry field at the $400 Monster Stack event at Venetian DeepStack Extravaganza V for $74,323 in prize money.

 

 

Patrick Leonard Wins Over $110,000 on PokerStars

bitB Staking founder and partypoker ambassador Patrick Leonard recently posted two big scores on PokerStars, claiming victory in one event and finishing runner-up in the second. In all, Leonard captured $100,000 on the online felts at the site.

Leonard who plays under the moniker ‘pads1161’ on PokerStars first topped the 98-entry field in the $2,100Sunday High Roller. He dominated a star-studded final table that included the likes of Scott Margereson, Liv Boeree, Connor Beresford and Connor Drinan. Leonard raked in $46,837for his win. Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree finished ninth for $6,554.

Leonard then went to finish runner up in the $530 No-Limit Hold’em of the PokerStars Winter Series. The event clocked in 1,155 entries and Leonard won $66,018 for outlasting them all.

The UK-based pro now boasts of $6,252,704 in online winnings and $2,246,297in live cashes. He has even played a crucial role in the restructuring of partypoker’s online product.

Denis Schneider Wins partypoker €550 Grand Prix Gala For €75,243

The partypoker €550 Grand Prix Gala that was hosted at King’s Casino in Rozvadov crowned a champion on New Year’s Eve and ringing in the New Year on a winning high was German pro Denis Schneider. Schneider topped a field of 652 entries (includes 148 re-entries) and entered a four-way deal with the other three finalists to walk away with the top prize worth €75,243 and the event trophy.

The event featured eight starting flights and guaranteed a prize pool of €500,000. The online flights kicked off on December 16 while the live starting flights commenced on December 26.

The top 89 spots earned at least €1,250 and only nine finalists survived to return on the final day. The Germans dominated the final table where Hans Joachim Hein started off in the chip lead with his stack of 18.5 Million.

Schneider started at the bottom half of the table when action kicked off on the final table, but he maneuvered his way up smartly and clinched the title.

Yitshak Zah was the first casualty on the final table and he fell out in ninth place. Following him to the rail were Daniel Rejc and Tsiiimigkas Vasileios who departed in eighth and seventh place respectively.

After Yfiem Spivack was eliminated in sixth place, it was Alireza Panahandeh’s turn to hit the rail in fifth place.

With the field narrowing down to the final four players, Schneider agreed to a four-way deal with Hans Joachim Hein, a player nicknamed .mat and Tonio Marek Roeder. While Schneider went for the title, Hein settled for runner-up finish, while .mat finished third and Roeder settled for a fourth-place finish.

Manig Loeser Takes Down Venetian $400 DeepStack Extravaganza V For $74,323

The Venetian DeepStack Extravaganza V series recently played out in Las Vegas. Outlasting a huge field of 1,250 entrants, Germany’s Manig Loeser topped the $400 buy-in Monster Stack event. Loeser walked away with the $74,323 first place purse and his sixth title win. For the heads-up match, Loeser came up against Eric Worre, author of Network Marketing book Go Pro. With Loeser dominating the finale, Worre had to settle for runner-up place.

Loeser boasts of $8.6 Million in live earnings while Worre has won over $600,000 in live cashes.

Indian-origin player Satish Surapaneni also made it to the final table and finished fourth for $25,586.

The event kicked off with players entering via three starting flights. With the field swelling to 1,250 entrants, the prize pool guarantee of $260,000 was easily surpassed and the total prize pool collection touched $418,750.

Only 149 survivors made it to Day 2 and Loeser had to navigate through a tough final table, which included notables like WSOP bracelet winner Eric Baldwin.

Eidan Azuly was the first casualty on the final table and exited in eighth place. Dominic Guarnieri was then shown the door in seventh place, and following these two was Sevak Papelian who collected a sixth-place payout.

Eric Baldwin saw his title hunt coming to an end in fifth place.

Indian-origin Satish Surapaneni went out next in fourth place. Chris Banks crashed in third place, leaving only Loeser and Eric Worre in the running. It wasn’t long before Loeser proved his dominance, and claimed the title, relegating Worre to a runner-up finish.
